Helmet size starts with head circumference about an inch above the eyebrows. Published bands overlap on purpose. Model shells differ.
Use a tape. Do not guess from hat size. Hockey Fit Check treats helmet sizing as a measurement problem, not a position problem.
Reference bands used internally (inches): XS 19.2–21.2 · S 20.4–22.4 · M 21.8–23.6 · L 22.8–24.8 · XL 23.6–25.6. Those are retailer-chart starting points, not a promise every shell fits those numbers.
