Hockey stick flex guide
Flex is how much the shaft bends under load. A lower number bends more easily. A higher number stays firmer.
Hockey Fit Check does not treat “half your body weight” as a law. Current flex and whether it felt too stiff or too whippy outweigh a generic formula.
What changes flex feel
- Cutting a stick usually makes it feel stiffer because you lose leverage. There is no universal +3–5 per inch rule here.
- Strength and shot style can nudge flex. Position does not pick flex by itself.
- If 70 felt too stiff, 65 is a reasonable next look — not a guaranteed perfect stick.
