Quick answer: Those words are size classes on the product, not “how old is the kid.” A tall 11-year-old can land in Junior or Intermediate depending on the piece and brand.
Why charts disagree
Bauer, CCM, and Warrior do not share one age table. Chest bands for shoulders are not the same as waist bands for pants.
What to do
Measure. If two classes overlap, use the piece that covers the joint and does not stop the next piece from sitting correctly. Do not buy Senior “to last longer” if the pad swallows the player.
